its not bad, but if you want the best overall synthetic oil, amsoil is top of the line, it beats in all the important tests like 4ball wear etc, mobil 1, valvoline, royal purple, etc.

RP makes great fluids for the tranny and differential (Synchromax & Max Gear). Used them exclusively on my old 540i and current M5. Can't speak much towards their motor oil as I never used it.

i run royal purple in my motorcycle.. dont really see the need to run it in my car since it is just a daily driver.. run penz syn in the car... royal purple is pretty pricey... but if you have the money by all means go ahead..
"I have been mixing 60/40 royal purple mobil 1 and car runs great!"
why would you ever mix oils.. i am not positive but i would have to say that is not a recommened practice..

you can mix oils, synthetic and dino oil, as long as they are the same grade and you stay within the means of the specified weight, seems stupid and pointless, but if it works for you great.

i was using amsoil for a bit but it became too inconvenient to get some more since u cant go thru the local auto store and have to go thru an independent dealer.
i just like the idea of going to the local auto store and picking some up whenever i need and thats why i switched to royal purple and never looked back.
plus amsoil is slightly more expensive.

I stand corrected to some degree.....I was talking with Joe Demaree and he was telling me that he has first hand experience with Royal Purple when one of his oil pumps gave out mid drag race and he kept in it the whole time. Toward the end of the stripe and three gears later when he saw the oil pressure gauge was at "0"...he knew he was screwed. Well...took the engine apart....no burned pistons/valves/nothing! He just fixed his problem and it started right up....no problems. After this story....I would say the stuff has some merit.
