My passenger side light bulb goes from its normal color to purpish orange slowly after turning the headlights on. Then about 5 minutes later turns off totally. If I turn the lights off and then back on, it goes through the same cycle. Is my ballast bad? Can someone help me out?

 

Your bulb is probably out. Replace both.

To confirm- swap bulbs side to side
Dealer bulbs are 175 each!!!
Excelerate has Kaixen brand- great replacements in 5000k or 6000k about 150 for a PAIR
always replace in pairs
4300 was stock- see many threads on headlights for more info- there is a diy on the bulbs

 

Out of curiosity does your HL housing have any condensation in it?

Ballasts tend to do weird things when the are going bad so do as 01tl4tl has suggested and you will have your answer (swap bulbs and if it is still pass side, it is a bad ballast. if it is driv side, then bad bulb)

 

I replaced the bulb two years ago. As far as I can tell the housing does not have any signs of condensation. I will try the swap first.

Yes it went out again. I don't think the bulb I bought was brand new. I swapped out the bulbs yesterday. The bad bulb did the samething on the other side. I looking for a pair on Ebay. Can anyone know the difference between 85126 and 85126+ for GE's part number?
