Arrow H.I.D Help!IDK

Im not sure if this the correct thread to write this on,or if theres a thread for this.SORRY new to this.

Well i drive a 99 TL and i want to replace my H.I.D's for a different color since my OEM H.I.D's are not so bright. Not sure if I would have to buy the whole H.I.D Kit or could i just change the bulbs to a diff color and it works fine??

THANKS!

Just the bulbs. The stock color is 4300k. Anything above 5000k+ gets progressively bluer... then purple

OEM is 4300K, and that's pure white. Anything higher is just colour. You will NOT get higher output when changing to a different colour bulb. In fact, you will get WORSE output.

Only viable suggestion I can think of is to do a HID projector retrofit with projectors from another car. I think S2000 and FX-Rs have pretty good output, but they're hard to install. Only user I know of that's done a projector retrofit into a 2G TL is Volly.

just a new set of D2r D2s--whatever it is we take-- a few are interchangeable
is what you need- the bulbs lose intensity with age and yours are at the limit

kaixen brand is popular in the 5ks
phillips is good for 4300- iirc they are the oe maker

expect $100-125 or so for a PAIR of quality ones
sure you can try the 35 bucks set on fleabay but they may not last a year~

you should get a pair from ddmtuning. i've gotten 3 pairs from them, and none of them have burnt out yet after 2+ years of use.

yes you can just buy the bulbs, no need for the entire kit, they are very cheap

its plug and play with the HID bulbs for us--already have the whole system

8k is pretty blue/purple and difficult to see by, attracts unwanted attention by law officers, and can freak out oncoming traffic..accident from blinding,,

4300 is stock, 5000 good upgrade, 6k ok, 8+ considered for `off road-show use`,,not driving

I had kaixen 6ks and its time for replacement,,driving with your lights on all the time adds up the hours!
going with 5k this time, probably from hidextra as suggested by many here--a pair of bulbs for 30 bucks!
Mine are on for daytime safety more than actual night driving, so its worth a try for the price
