Grinding/Rubbing Noise?

My 2001 Acura TL has recently developed a grinding/rubbing noise from what seems to be the driver's side front. I hear it at various times: When I brake, when I turn right, when I turn left and right at high speeds, when I turn to the starting position on the steering wheel at various speeds. I don't know if it is because I might have hit something like a curb (which I don't recall doing so). The sound is predominant when I touch the brakes, so I think I might need a new brake pad or drum. However, I can still hear the sound when I'm driving (mainly turning right). I want to fix this problem as soon as possible, but I don't want to throw away money on repairs that don't fix the problem. Does anybody know what is going on? Much thanks is appreciated!

What do you mean by I need new brakes? New pads or rotors or what?

You should start by inspecting the brakes to see what's needed. If you Brakes went metal to metal. That meaning that your pads friction was gone and the metal was rubbing on the rotor. New rotors and pads. Good Luck!!!
