gas mileage problem

change your driving habits, make sure your using 91 or better for octane, run some fuel injector cleaner like seafoam thru the gas (wouldnt hurt to do the whole motor) and 200 isnt that far off from the norm for all city.

At kragen, or I think any auto part store they sell this thing called a tornado for your air intake system (airfilter) that you put in the intake and it helps you save gas. I got it and well i got to say it did help, but i will advice it is kind of prici <-(cant spell lol) its around $64 thats how much i got it for but you can check.

Less than 200 sounds pretty bad. I do all city driving, mainly back and forth to work, and I get about 260 miles a tank. That averages out to 18mpg.
On top of what fsttyms1 said, make sure your tires are properly inflated(i fill to 36psi) and check your balance and alignment.

Just searched, this thread seems like itll help me the most.
I have clocked just under 50 miles per what almost appears (almost, but not quite) 75% tank remaining (based off my fuel gauge). Is this normal? I use 92 octane.
What were TL's rated for? I hope I dont have a heavy foot.
I have 90K on my 2000 TL. Ordered some new Iridium 9's, and will sea foam as soon as I get it. Timing belt is right around the corner.

take the tornado back off and return it- it has been proven to conflict with the vtec mode in the engine- works great on my old truck though! no vtec no vortec uses for the nado
city -19
hwy 29 normal-32 outstanding
combined driving 23
Used TLs get lousy mileage until you seafoam, ngk, air filter of choice and cabin air filter
Thats usually 2 or 3 tanks of gas and you decide to reserve the use of vtec for
~as needed~ instead of all the time

Is your check engine light on? Does the car have a rough idle? Right now I get about the same- 200 miles to a full tank but it is because I have a ignition misfire that gives my car poor performance and horrible gas mileage. I am in the process of fixing it, but i get get about the same due to a misfire.

I do a lot of driving city and highway, that sounds a little low I have never had less than 270 miles to a tank. normally I will see about 350-370 sometimes depending on how much city driving i do. I use 93octane and cruise control a lot. I've seen 30mpg also on highway driving, and around 15-19 mpg on city.

Im currently at 254 miles per tank so far. My orange light has been on for a little bit. About 40 miles, I completed the seafoam project as well as using the Iridium IX plugs. Those two items sure did make a difference.
All my driving is city.

help me out here: how much more mpg do you get after seafoam, ngk and air filter.
how does the cabin filter help with mileage? you mean by reducing electric load and hence engine load?
how do you choose to engage/disengage the vtec?
