gas
I don't really mind if people ask questions before using the search function, but it bothers me when people buy a car without reading the owner's manual.
You should be using premium unleaded gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol by volume. Depending on your city's elevation, you octane rating availability may be limited. In Houston, 93 octane should be readily available. There would be no benefit of getting a higher octane rating.
Using a lower octane rating can cause the gas to ignite during compression, instead of being caused by the spark plugs. This causes a loss of power, and you may here a knocking sound.

Perhaps a new member. Sometimes ppl log on here and post before searching or looking around. The answer is YES=PREMIUM ONLY! TIP=some stations in my area sell premium for the same price as Plus. This happens on Tuesday at one station and Friday at another. Those are the only 2 days I buy gas to save at least $1-3 bucks when filling up. Regular is $3.09 per gallon. Paid $3.19 for premium on Friday. Most other stations around the area want $3.30 and up for premium.
welcome- OP is a new member and still learning, lets be nice
the spec requires (says so right on gas door or cap) 91 or Higher
the car is really made for 94, the highest premium you can get in the usa
it will run on 91- the premium in Ca and many other states
but below that is asking for problem,,87-89 causes the ecu to retard the timing, result in less combustion and more emissions
E10 is the usa spec limit on ethanol added- should be rare to find MTBE added gas as thats been outlawed and E10 replaced it
Car makers say they can run up to 10%E and its ok, but more...doubtful
there is Washington DC action to raise that to E15,,for newer cars of some future date with fuel lines and systems built to take that
for us for now 91, or 94 if you can get it
No need for race gas 100+ found at some stations near race tracks on normal car
If you have a turbo or sc added..you already know about using that for you
