Foglamp - Headlamp

I have read the headlight problems and am wondering if that would affect the foglamps as well.

My drivers side headlight is dead on low beam and high. My fog lamps are now flickering as well.

I noticed water inside the headlamp assembly after going through a car wash 2 months ago.

I am wondering if the ballast problem would also impact the fog lamps and how I could test the ballast to see if it is the problem.

Do you have to pull the bumper to change out the bulbs?

Thanks for you help

Scott

welcome to the forum
First let me give you the owner manual link- free download of the operating handbook for the car. The TL has many trick features.
https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...01_OMANUAL.asp
click your year then model

Water is the headlight is bad sign- it drips from there into unprotected areas and the ballast dies.
When in doubt on low beams- one working- swap the bulbs left to right
The fog lights- do the same thing- see if its a bulb issue first,
Some members have old battery old battery cables and ground issues.
Headlight bulbs get changed from inside the engine compartment same with the hi beams
Hi beams are normal car type bulbs- think silverstar with only a high beam function
The lows always stay on- the hi beam adds a small amount more to the edges

As you now see- the car wsh and the TL are a bad mix. Pressure water directed at the sealing edges of the headlight housing- and you are looking for new housings

See the DIY section for lots of good reading- https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/sex-jokes-142016/

Just so you know- low beam bulbs are $150 a pair for Kaixen- very good brand
200 each for stock ones at the dealer and 80-100 for phillips- on the bay now and then
Buy NEW bulbs and always replace in pairs

Thanks, I will switch out the bulbs from the working side and see if that is the problem.
How hard is it to switch out the ballast to see if that is the problem?

just a bit of work- remove bumper- thats not too hard- then remove entire headlight housing ~5 bolts/screws-from the car
ballast is attached to the bottem of it

Found the Kaixen lamps on Autodoodad for $99 a pair.

I need to get a Haynes manual for the car so I can understand what all is involved.

Removing the bumper is easy?! We just had 12 inches of snow so I am not inclined to look under the car right now, but is it just the removal of a few bolts and the thing pops off?
