FNG Quick Question

First let me start by saying I have searched LOL........

Ok I am the proud new owner of a 03 TL 3.2 non S non navi and I am really trying to minimize my modding to the interior.

I want to have digital music since my last vehicle had aftermarket HU with MP3/WMA CD capability and I think I want to do this with and Ipod and the Griffin Air Click to control the Ipod more so then the steering wheel controls (which by the way to me are kind of lacking)

I am thinking about going blitzsafe and then the air click for Ipod control so I guess my main question is how are all of you guys with Ipod's in your vehicles controlling them?

I believe I would run the aux input cables into the center console and use the power adapter to power the Ipod and then use the air click for controlling it.

So basically I am just curious what works best for controlling your ipods?

The AirClick gives you: play/pause, next track, previous track, and volume up and down
The Steering controls give you: next track and volume up and down.

Mounting the iPod on the console and Reaching over to the iPod gives you play/pause and previous track. I don't get the point of the Airclick,

For multiple reasons

1. I dont want my ipod in a visible area or cables showing (hence the "maintain a factory appearance" portion of my initial post)

2. If I get a phone call the pause button is ideal for muting as well as I like the ability to go to a previous track as well

3. I dont want to have to reach down or take my eyes off the road to change tracks

You didn't mention "maintain a factory appearance" in your initial post.

Hopefully, the potential thieves will be dumb enough to not recognize the AirClick or the empty Airclick bracket. Nothing says 'There's no iPod in this car' like an empty holder and a cable that's not plugged into anything.

Where will you place the AirClick so you do not have to take your eyes off the road?

To answer your initial question:

iPod adapter from mp3yourcar.com with the cable coming out just above the 'This is not an ashtray area.
Bracket on the passenger side of the console, just to the right of the radio.

I connect the iPod and place it in the holder when I want to use it.

Its a wireless remote I dont have to mount it to anything.

It is also RF so I dont have to point it at anything I would just have it sitting in my cup holder reach down grab it and change tracks.

My goal is not necessarily theft deterence more so I just want the fact the ipod is there to be invisible and subtle. I dont want any wires sticking out or mounting brackets I just want a clean hidden install.

The your solution is the best one, iPod adapter plugged into the HU, cable back to the center console and the AirClick.
