Fix leather on door handles?

Hey guys! i was wondering if any of your TL's had the leather on the door handles start peeling away, like you can see the foam and stuff. it seems to be happening to all 4 of my doors.


what'd you do to fix this?

instead of leather is there a mod i can do to make it brushed aluminum or carbon fiber?

What you're talking about is the door handles dude. You can't swap those out for another type of material. That's how they are, that's how they have to stay.

There is a DIY that was done by a cl owner. He removed the door panel, used some gorilla glue and clamped it up to reseal things. It's a common TL problem from temperature swings. Can't believe such a problem exists on our freakin luxury sedans. Pretty ridiculous.

i agree its pretty ridiculous but i'll try out the gorillla glue thing thanks

Ya you have to remove the door panels, glue/epoxy the armrest back on and then clamp it for a couple hours to reseal and you should be good

One thread I've seen, he used some kind of adhesive, then used the shower curtain rod to press it tight until the glue dries and strong to hold pieces together.

No wonder my door's are all F'd up. MN weather 105 in the summer and -40 in the winter probably isn't helping haha
