Faded Trim

Faded Trim
We own a 2002 TL, and overall, the car is in very good condition. However, one annoying issue is that some of the black trim around the windows is fading. This is the vertical strips a couple of inches wide, at point where the front and back doors meet.
There are basically two stips per side, one attached to each door. One of them is in pretty good shape, but the other three are pretty faded. I tried applying some wax on one small section, but it didn't do any good.
Can anyone offer any advice on how to restore this trim to something close to original condition? Is it a DIY job, or do we need to see a professional of some type?
Thanks,

Basically, you have to take them off the doors sand and paint them. Check the DIY thread for this. You will have to unscrew a couple of bolts under the weather stripping and take the pillars off.
