Exhaust Pipe

So My Acura's exhaust has been a mess for about a year now. There was a hole in it about 7 months ago (in the middle of the pipe) so i didnt have the money to buy a whole new one at the time, so i did a simple patch to avoid the problem. So now that patch is starting to give out again, and two holes have developed and im about to buy a whole new pipe, but im scared that when i do another hole will develop. Should i Be? what causes the holes anyways? if anyone knows, plz help! thanks

If the hole was created from a damage, then patch it. If it was created from a deterioration of the pipe, then it is better to replace the whole pipe. Depending on the age, holes could have been created from corrosion.
