excessivly warped front rotors 03 TL
my front rotors are so rusted and warped that my car shakes violently during braking. anyone else had this happen to their TL? this car has been gently used and has only 50k miles. I have other cars with 70k miles on original rotors still looking new. should I replace the rotors at Acura or somewhere else? or should I just have them machined.

I'd get them replaced. I searched and found some brands that people on here suggest using: Rotora, EBC, Raybestos, and Powerstop. PM some of the vendors to see what kind of deals you can get.

you can get ~good enough~ rotors at kragen/oreilly or autozone
they are made for racers, but stop the car without shaking for normal drivers
Acura rotors are not great~ go aftermarket
If your rotors are rusty there may be a caliper issue--overnight rust should be gone in a few stops,
Flush the brake fluid, inspect the caliper operation, get new pads and rotors
brakes are a simple DIY, but must be done right- if you can follow instructions you can do it
or a private owner smaller shop that does imports-hondas-acura can do it
look in the yellow pages of phone book for smaller sized ad- go see the shop -talk to them about your car
being too gentle on the brake can lead to its own problems
Dragging the car slowly to a stop heats them and never allows a cooling off

yeah i had this happen to my old 2002 tl, its actually pretty scary, i got them replaced. If your hard on your brakes go with ones with vent holes and slots to help with excessive heat.
