Hi all,

Have a 00 TL.....I have three wiper problems....

interment speed does not work at all except to run at low speed

windshield wipers will not park properly after you turn to interment, low or high speed....so you just keep turning switch until the wipers are down completely....

in low or high speed if you pull back for window washer fluid, than the wipers will not turn off and your not parking problem properly is gone except the wipers run in low speed until you turn the car off and than restart....

Already replaced the column wiper switch and was not the problem....Has anyone ever had this problem, is it the motor or some wiper module???

Please help, very annoying.

 

The first thing you want to check is to make sure the wiper arm is still tight on the post. The most common problem is the wiper arm gear contact is being stripped, or could be loose.

 

I will talk to my mecp mobile mechanic about the wiper arm gear contact....Does the gear have any electrical contacts in the wiper arm gear? I just ordered a new wiper motor from Autozone. If I don't open the box than I can return the wiper motor. Thank you

 

no change at all with the new combination switch? brand new dealer item or junkyard special ?
Im thinking bad new part?

is there part of the story we are missing like salvage title sat in water or you recently did xyz...

 

The mechanic installed a new windshield wiper switch from the Acura dealer.....the new Acura wiper switch on the column performed the same way...bought TL car new in 99.....the Acura dealer said that the drivers side multiplex was bad....does the wiper system run through the drivers side multiplex??

 

I bought a wiper motor from Napa Reman and my mechanic will install later this week.....may be the wiper intemittent control module.....

 

Napa wiper motor wouldn't fit my 2000 TL, waste my time and dollars ....gotta love it two different models for my year....bought from Auto zone $80 dollar wiper motor, only one reman model option at Auto zone sent to my house with free shipping over $80 ...fit like a glove.....lifetime warranty and everything works perfect now....Case Closed........Acura dealer mechanic told me I had a bad drivers side multiplex....lied at their benefit.....$600 part & labor that I didn't need.....
