engine codes
I wanted to go to the gym, started the car which is parked down hill in front of my house garage, made a loping sound up and down repeatedly, I shut it off immediatly, looked under the hood and tried again, same thing so I reversed on to the road figuring fuel prob, repeated it, samething. I got my scanner but kept getting error not connecting, drove to midas down the road little power, $80 for diagnostic, they had the same problem plus bad smell from exhaust. they didnt charge me so they said take it to acura. Had to pic up kid by that time so went to the school, got them try to start car, nothing only cranking, had to tow it to acura, today they called and said they couldn't get the codes either car still wont run, what the hell is wrong with it?. Is it a computer problem? If it isn't what else can it be. plus the noise I was hearing could be the timing belt but not sure.. any suggestions? It's costing me $$$$$$$

Initial issue sounds like an idle air control valve (IACV). Very common problem on our car. Either clean it or replace it. But the fact that I won't start now could be a bunch of issues. With no CEL it's tough to diagnose.
Does the engine crank?
