I was driving yesterday and all of a sudden it starts smoking by the windshield defroster vents and it smells like an electrical burn. Car still runs fine and no problems but I want to know what it could possibly be.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a short, but you'd have to get a good light and look around.

 

ck the cabin air filters for clogging
the main power lead to the cabin fan has a problem with the connector, under the front edge of glovebox
gets burnt on back or inside of itself--must open it to inspect fully
acura makes an update kit with new connectors/wires for ~20$

sometimes it burns the connection and shorts the resistor for the fan motor
causing its failure too
Also seen wires pull right out of it!!
