Exclamation DRL light stays on

I just bought a 2002 tl type S on thursday and the DRL (daylight relay) light is staying on, on the dashboard when headlights are off, and due to this I don't have any daylights. Would anyone have an idea on what it could be and what I could do.

Thanks.

I'd answer, if I could understand your question.

DRL = Daytime Running Lights.

Drl

Sorry to bother you again, Do you mean under the glove compartment because I looked there and don't see anything that looks like a fuse box.
Thanks for your help.

As mentioned DRL = Daytime Running Lights. If you have that on your car, it is Canadian and if so you should know about that (you should be in Canada) ... been law for a while now.

One suggestion I have is that if it is not the fuse, it could be the headlamp switch. The one on my 94 Accord EXR went on me recently and I had to replace it. One of the symptoms was that I lost my DRL, though my regular and hi beams were working fine. I also had a problem with the turn signal light not wanting to cooperate.

Good luck with it!

actually if I'm not mistaken the fuse is in the drivers side fuse panel and for all your fuse box info refer to your owners manual page 300

Yes the fuse is there. There is also a control unit for it.
Oops, i was looking at the wrong illustration. It is on the drivers side.
"Behind drivers dashboard lower cover" is all it says. Its a 14 wire connector and a actual control unit. There is a fuse in the drivers side fuse panel, as well as the under hood fuse panel (fuse 43 &45)

do you , by chance, have a picture or diagram of the controll unit? my drl light stays on all the time. when my full headlights are on then the drl light goes off. if i flash my highbeams then only the passenger side low-beam light comes on. i've already checked the bulbs. they are both fine. i want to chnge the controll unit for the daytime running light but i don't know what i'm looking for.

Sparks, go and check if either or both high beam light bulbs are not blown.
