Drivetrain issues after lowering 03 TL...
2003 Acura TL Type S
Modifications:
Lowered 2.2 inches front/rear (springs only)
18" wheels
Adjustable upper ball joints (for camber)
Issue (story form):
Installed springs and wheels/tires. One month later, realized both front tires were severely worn on the inside. Was told to install adjustable upper ball joints for the corrective action. Up till this point, no other issues aside from tire wear. Bought ball joints and installed them same day. Immediately took car to NTB for alignment. On my trip there, I noticed a slight vibration on the passenger front on the highway. Vibration progressed and then i began hearing a whirring noise. About one mile from NTB, both the vibration and the noise grew increasing louder and had NTB not been so close I wouldve stopped right there on the side of the road to investigate. In the parking lot of NTB, I noticed that my cv axle boot had blown and threw grease all over the inside of my wheel (passenger side). Thought "no big deal, ill just replace it after the alignment". NTB called me and told me that my car was finished so i went and picked it up. From NTB to my shop (3.5 miles) the car made no noise and no vibration. Ordered a new cv axle and installed it. That night on the ride home, there was only a slight vibration on passenger wheel...no biggie. Then, earlier today on my way to go grocery shopping, the exact same vibrations and noises started happening again! Ive yet to inspect the car but judging by the symptoms, the same exact thing is about to happen. Total drive time with new axle: 15 miles (maybe!).
Could it be the adjustable upper ball joints causing this to happen? What's my first step in diagnosing this issue? Any and all help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
