just got an 03 type S, engine makes a subtle clicking sound, wondering if im trpping or is the engine in need of some maintenace?

 

When do you hear it.

 

usually when its really cold outside, and the heta is on.

 

Driving or just sitting still.

I took it for a hard drive "n" it was scary fast, took it for an oil change @ Honda, they didn't say much, just to add Fuel anti-freeze,nothing feels out of the ordinary, but that sound is still there, only when you listen closely, high revs its a beast

 

If you hear it sitting do you mostly hear it inside the car or on the drivers side?

If so its most likely the purge control solenoid which is a very common thing and not to be worried about. You can either have it replaced if its bothering you or leave it.

 

I also have the same ticking. I'm going to assume that the purge solenoid is the sensor located near the driver side firewall? I took it off another TL, but I haven't had time to replace it.
