Do I need new headlights?

My cars headlights are aimed to low to able to see good at night. I tried to adjust them but they will only move up to a certain point then start going down and then up again to the same level while I'm moving the adjuster in the same direction. Idk if the aiming mechanism is broken or what could be wrong. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I can get a good set of aftermarket headlights?

take the headlight housings off the car and ck the adjuster mechanism
see diy section for removal of nose
my aftermarket ones dont adjust very well- 1 does 1 doesnt, need to look into that~
Are you lowered? is that part of the aim situation?

are you using a + screwdriver slid down the V channel onto the top gear of the mechanism?
then turn screwdriver in the direction indicated for up-down, by arrow cast into plastic of housing

My type s is stock height. I have one headlight that is aiming much lower than the other one too. I actually used a ratchet to adjust them. I was able to aim it a little bit higher but its still not good enough. It kinda feels like the threads are striped because it will move the beam up to a certain point then if I keep turning it just stays there.

try it with the screwdriver method

worn shocks will lower your lights in a major way

pop the nose and headlight assembly off the car- its not as bad as it sounds

the driver side is set lower and in- so you dont blind oncoming traffic
the passenger side is out to the right slightly and farther- so you can see road lane edge lines, people on bikes or foot etc

ck diy section for actual acura method and measurements against a wall
after that a dark road and final adjust to your desires

do you get moisture inside the housing lens?

it may be time for new bulbs based on age
and new ballast/capacitor-ignitor system, as the stock one gets wet inside and fries/dies!
www.hidextra.com for a $59 kit that fixes all those problems

Shocks are in good shape so i don't think its a height issue. The headlights are in good shape, there is no moisture in there. Its just that they are only aiming about 10ft (it was only about 5ft before) in front of the car. I removed the bumper and the headlight assembly to try to see if there was a problem there and everything seemed ok.

slide the + screwdriver down that raised V channel on back of light housing
may need to tilt rearward for clearance
when driver teeth hit the upper gear, they mesh and work like the driver is another gear!
rotate handle to adjust per the arrows on top of housing

have to take the housings off the car to inspect the adjuster assembly
looks right and actually works are different things

your lights are WAY low,,find the real problem
