diy alternator removal
Alternator removal.......
Hey 03cOupe, it's actually pretty straight forward.
1) Obviously, ya may want to disconnect the (-) cable from the battery before removing the alternator.
2) Locate the alt's drive belt and remove by taking the pressure off the tensioner pulley.
3) Then take off the electrical connectors and the ground wire retaining nut.
4) Remove the two mounting bolts for the alternator support bracket and then the one behind for the wiring harness.
5) It's a bit tight working, but it'll come out and go back in with some gentle persuasion.

The srs light probaly was triggered by low voltage due to the bad alternator. Dead batteries/alternators usually tend to cause all types of electrical gremlins to pop up.
