Deceleration: Shudders?

this might sound stupid, when im approaching a light or something and start to slow down, i can feel the car kick real hard/shudder back and forth, and im pretty sure its not cause its downshifting...

what can i do to fix this? i was contemplating whther the change the Tranny fluid and clean the IM...

thanks

My car does this too, but it is only sometimes, and not violent. I can BARELY hear it and I can barely feel the car shudder. It also does it when I am accelarating slightly. And not just in 3rd either. I don't even want to say what I think it is...

Does it happen when you're braking? If so, your rotors might be warped, the stock rotors are notoriously bad. I had this happen at around 30,000 miles, just got some new crossdrilled/slotted rotors from irotors and they've been fine ever since.

happens to me too but i dont mind it, this is what i came up wit

i noticed this early on when i bought my tl, 99 yes. and when it winds down from 4th, no shudder to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd. nothing then when it comes to 2nd to 1st, i noticed the shudder. i watched it do it in tiptronic and watched the rpm guage. if you try braking while winding down to 1st it would shudder at about 1600-2100.

from idle to fan idle. first try adjusting ur idle on the TB and check the stiffness/tight of the TB Cable. while braking, brake with the rpm guage, so say ur near 2100, ease up on the brake pedal, dont put constant press there, go with the flow, and anticipate the jerk. i feel it all the time from the wind down, but there at no probs when doing that, wont corrupt the tranny. try it out tho. brake with the speed/rpm of the car, cuz when u brake real hard like with abs or without, it doesnt do the jerk. fully wind down to 1st.

so yea thats how i drive it wit the jerk lol.
