I had a creak last year around this same time. It went away for awhile and just came back. I cannot for the life of me figure where its coming from. Here are the facts:

1. Coming from the front of the car
2. Only creaks when starting to move the car forward
3. Doesn't creak when you accelerate aggressively from a start
4. Wheels can be straight or slightly turned left or right (seems more when turned left though)
5. Isn't one creak, its a "creak creak creak creak" type noise
6. CV boots look fine and are not leaking
7. Car has 92k on it

Other then the noise the car seems to ride smooth. So can annyyone provide some insight?

 

I looked at it again. I did notice the lower ball joint on the driver side has a torn boot. Can that cause a creak? It doesn't creak while going over bumps though.

 

I had a creak- turned out to be one of the lower ball joints.

 

Was it over bumps or while starting to move forward from a stop?

 

It was both I believe- you could push down on the front corner of the car & hear it too.
