Ive never seen D5 on and off like when starting up the car. It may not have anything to do with the tranny, but you might want to look into the cause of it. Did it do that when you first have the car?

this issue came up recently so I read the book and went out and watched every time I started the car that day.
It really does come on solid a few seconds just like the TCS, OIL and other warning systems go thru a self test on startup.

Perfectly normal-

we are not talking abou the blinking D5 on accelleration- just solid on w/key on

Its not something you notice for years of owning the car- then one day paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep, it starts when you're always afraid, that one day your trans- will be on its way.....

I have been working on The trans failure Blues song, those lyrics are half sampled from an old 60s song

Trivia- who can name that song?
