My dealer maintained 2002TL has 94,000kms(56,000miles) and starting during a recent trip the " cruise control" function refuses to engage. When attempted the tachometer moves wildly from normal 2000rpm upwards. I have had the D5 malfunction and two subsequent recalss for the transmssion.

Any ideas on the cause and fix for this problem?
