My car is beginning to creak when i turn the steering wheel either way. It is lowered on TEIN coilovers. Any idea on what this could be?

 

since you're in edmonton, i'll assume it only happens when it's cold it. it's the P/S fluid, just drive it for a bit to warm the system up and you should be fine. not a big problem.

 

it does it even on a warmer day like -1 to - 15

 

-1 to -15 isn't warm

 

It happens to me too man, I get a weird noise from the steering while making a 'sharper' turn at low speeds; especially when it's really cold like -20 and below.

 

Same problem here i have a 3-4 inch drop on a nex ss suspension and when i turn at slow speeds like the rest of you guys i hear this wierd creaking noise coming from the passenger front area, anyone help us

 

ball joints?

 

yea i have the same problem but mine comes from the driver side it think its a lower ball joint im checking it out tomorrow so ill ask your questions to my mecanic and ill see what he says but try this. Get out your car and push down either front fenders and if you hear squeeking noise then its your ball joint if its the upper once when you turn you will hear loud clicking noise i hope i helped a bit but stay tuned for tomorrow. take care my TL friends lol

 

whats the average winter time high temp up there, cus if thats "warm" then i assume its fwaking cold up there.

 

well im from montreal quebec and we recently had like - 20 to - 30 lol but my tl is still survivin knock on wood lol so yeeee imagine that lol

 

coldest my TL has been in was about -4 F, it was fine. it did make a lot of funny noises until it was warmed up. i guess its normal

well iv only noted a squeak wen it was cold out, but most likely everyone is going to tell you to check you lower ball joints, which has already been covered, other than that i dont have anything else to say. good luck

i see yur ganna get some Tein SS good choice man i have those wth the dampering its too siiiick i put them on stiff stifff and take turns like crazy speeed and it wont budge. you will have lots of fun just dont over do it and die please loll
