Creaking noise from lower windshield area

HORRIBLY cold here today, so of course it causes "strange noises"

Our TL is making a creaking noise when turning left, but only when the car is cold. Its coming from the lower drivers side windshield area. Not quite sure if its inside the car or if its in the upper strut area under the hood.

Any tips? (aside from moving to where its warm!)

Yeah, the frigid cold can make not only our car's suspension creak and ache the same as it does to our bodies. Rubber bushings are more than likely the cause. Maybe a dry ball joint, worn strut, or any old suspension/steering component feeling it's age.

Thats what I figured. As long as it doesnt seem to be a safety issue Im ok with it for now

After hearing about it from my wife she made it sound like a wheel was about to fall off....after driving and hearing it myself it doesnt seem to be too big of a deal

Cars will normally give you warnings of possible problems, if ya don't normally drive the car.....then ya have to rely upon the principal driver's instinct. Next time, when the car has been sitting out in the cold overnight....lift the hood and push up & down on the front fenders to see if you can hear any squeaks. Then have someone start the car and turn the steering wheel left & right, again listening for any noise.

By doing this will show that you care and are concerned about her fears !

Hehe, yeah. She knows Im concerned when I called her at work and told her to be very careful, stay in right lane, at or below the speed limit, etc.

I always take car stuff seriously, but didnt have the time to properly diagnose it. After I drove it and didnt feel anything horrible I figured its OK at least until the weekend when I have time to look closer.

Took a few seconds to look around in/around/behind the wheels and didnt see anything horribly out of the ordinary. CV joints arent leaking, didnt see any really bad bushings, etc.
