Hello...
I have a Acura TL 1999. Yesterday, I discovered my leather seats (Rear and Drive seats) are cracked under a bright sun ( b/c you can't really see the cracks when it is dark).
It is not ripped yet, but when I tighten the leather, I can seat the cracks (it's like a map). I put huge amount of conditoner on them ( I did it before about every three months). However...the cracks did not went away like I hope to.
Now, I have put a thin blanket on the rear seats, and plan to get a seat cover to cover the driver seat. I did that b/c I don't want it to rip apart (DOES THIS HELPS???AND WILL IT BE WORST FOR THE LEATHER TO BE COVERED UP)
Is there anything else I can do to help it (leather)?
Thank you very much

cracking of leather is natural and you can only prolong it for so long. Do not worry, you seat will not just rip apart. There isn't any need for all the measures unless the cracks are pretty deep and are ready to rip. I put conditioner on my 3G TL once a month, and after 3 years still have some cracks. Just keep the leather conditioned and it will serve you well.

tinting your windows will help your interior by blocking the sun/UV. plus it just keeps the car cooler in general.
i have a decent amount of cracks too, and something i want to try is putting a little bit of rubber cement in the valley of the crack and letting it cure to see if that stops it from spreading. if you do it right you should never see it. something to think about. i may try it on my back seat this weekend if i get the chance.

Just chillen..
Same here, I have cracks on my leather and I have 5% tints. I condition and cleaned it twice a month. But I do every time clean my car, use a microfiber wipe and dust off the leather. Honestly, I have a 99, you have a 99, you can't keep everything new, so I'm about to put custom seats in my car. The moral of my story, UPGRADE! Good luck bro

Thanks for your replys...
So i will just put leather conditioner every one month. I am using the gel conditioner, is the spray type better? Yea, I guess I will just put the blank on the rear seat since nobody sits there most of the time.
Thanks

I've heard that over conditioning can hurt the leather. I usually apply a cleaner and conditioner every 3 months. I have tint as well which does help. The only problem area I have is the driver's seat which is expected. The rest of the leather looks new in the car.
