Cracked Air Intake Hose

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum here and I can't find a DIY for a cracked air intake repair for the 2nd Gen TL.

I have a 2000 TL v6-navi.

My tube is badly racked, and though I have nice guerilla tape all around the crack--It needs to be fixed asap.

I found the part Discount Auto Parts and Accessories - PartsGeek

My Q is do you suspect any difficulties with this? I have the tools I think I need (ratchets/screw drivers).

I am novice with cars. I read that a guy had an issue with a hose length after purchasing a new tube. Also issues with the old clamps breaking upon removal.

Sorry to be vague I just feel a little under-skilled for the repair. I just don't want to mess it up then have to tow it and then get fixed.

Thanks for the help guys.

Best,
Sam W.

The intake tube is super easy to remove, in a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the hardest) the intake tube takes a 1.
THAT IF the part is a perfect clone of the OEM.. I had some bad luck with some fender liners being shorter in the past.... Stoopid Aftermarket....

Yup super easy, if you get under the hood for just about anything you'll be pulling that on and off.

Just make sure to keep the little resonator piece that hangs down from your old one (snake looking plastic thing, #9 on that site) and replace on your new.

For ~$225 more you can always get a Cold Air Intake and give your TL a nice, deep growl under the hood

Hi mit

The great things about those 'cold air intake' videos is they also require the installation of the OEM intake . Follow here:
and stop at the part where they install the Cold air intake and just reverse the steps used to install the new OEM intake.
