Hello, need to pass inspection & emission, already tried to reset codes, but it gives me error right before all sensors are tested. So I need to replace catalytic or install spark plug non-fouler, if I choose the first are there non oem catalytic converters which really works on our cars (acura tl 99) for reasonable price ? Got estimate from Mo..e (not sure if I can write company name on this forum) for $450, what strange is labor only $40, rest is for cat. As they said my car needs CA cat so it little bit more expensive.
If I am going to install non-fouler will it helps with stock catalytic ? What size the fouler should be, do I need one or two of them ?

I am getting this error randomly since last year, now more and more frequently. Last year was replaced o2 sensors to bosh.

 

It may be the 02 sensor causing the code as well. Cali as messed up regs but a aftermarket cat like the one from the place you went to should work just fine. You can try the anti fouler, but if they do a sniff test it may not pass if the cat is bad. Just depends on if and how bad it is. I personally would try the anti fouler and get the required miles put on the car and make sure the light doesnt come on and get it tested. (if it comes on its probably the 02 sensor)
