Clicking Sound
I posted earlier about timing belt and starter...
03 TLS
now when I attempt to start it, it just clicks?
I have lights, power, etc.
Doesn't turn over, just clicks.
Is that the starter gone bad? Something else?
Thanks.

I am gonna try jumping it today before taking the battery into to have it checked out.
No answers to the timing belt/starting issues yet. It still won't start. I think if I can get it started, I'll take it to another (more reliable mechanic).
Thanks for the help/ideas.

dont jump start a DEAD battery -
that forces the alternator to work much harder than it was designed trying to recharge it--you dont want to stress alt- very expensive part to screw up
a low battery can take a jump-
BUT dont ever go batt to batt with the NEG cable,,
dead car cable end goes to a place like strut tower bolt for its ground
that protects both batteries
for purpose of seeing if its a voltage prob to starter, its ok to do car to car `power boost`--how about we call it that rather than jump- to seperate the two
Or if you have a ride to parts store- they will take your battery and charge it- then load test it
if it passes, install back in car and try again

you can ck inside the tbelt inspection cover holes to see if belt is in place on the cam.
If a tensioner or roller failed, that will jam stuff up and possibly do OPs symptoms
Lets hope its a starter relay or voltage issue!!

Okay - I didn't jump it but did get a new battery (the other one failed).
Put it in, and still no start.
I talked to the mechanic who did the work and of course he can't make any connection between the timing belt and these starter issues. Unfortunately he is a general mechanic and not an acura specific mech. Who knows.
So...good advice to check if the timing belt is on the cam. I'll do that. The car ran fine when it was running, so I would hope that is an indication that the belt was properly installed.
Next up, alternator and starter/relay. Just seems odd that this happened immediately after the t/belt was changed.
Any thoughts how I can find out if it is a relay or voltage issue?

Got it started. Followed all the electrical connections and made sure they were tight. Cleaned a small amount of corrosion (and I mean a small amount) off the battery and it started right up...more than once.
So who knows!? I'll keep am eye on it. Think I'm gonna go have my alternator checked just to make sure.
