Clear Coat Touch up for Emblems?

I removed my ACURA letters from my TL, and there is no clear coat where they used to be.

Is there any preferred brand of clear coat paint that i can use to cover the small patches?

Also, would i have to buff out the entire area and then put a new clear coat on ?

That's strange. Got me on the clear coat to use, but are you sure it isn't the difference between the area the emblem covered and the areas where there could be layers of wax? How much difference are you talking about?

I also took my A-C-U-R-A letters off but i think there some kind of residue or glue left over

I followed the DIY, and also tried goo gone with no luck. What can I do to take this residue away?

any suggestions would help guys

There is a noticable difference. The area behind the emblems is a lighter silver than the rest of the trunk. I need some coat to fill in...so the entire surface is flush.

I used a hair dryer and dental floss. After the ACURA was off the trunk I used the dryer again with a plastic razor blade. Used a little bit of lighter fluid, then scraped the remaining residue off. Hit the paint up with some polishing compound, twice. Then waxed the trunk lid. Can not identify any areas of clearcoat not being applied where the badges were. They wouldn't of installed the badges before the clearcoat.
