Thumbs down clear coat/clear film on doors chipping off

On my 02 tl-s, the clear coat or clear film on my door/window frame is peeling/chipping off. I don't leave it in the sun that much either, is this a common problem? Not only is the clear coat stuff peeling off, but the material underneath it is bubbling and cracking. it's like they just put electrical tape over the window frame and sprayed it down with clearcoat. Is it just clear coat though? if it is, I might just sand it down and repaint it myself. Just trying to make sure it's not some kind of film.

I've got the same problem on a 2003 TLS. What's the fix? Just respray clear coat on the frames between the front and rear door? I've got some touch up clear coat, I wonder if that would work. Has anyone approached Acura about the problem?

Since you're all new, I'll let you in on something.

On the main page of the 2nd gen forums, there is a stickied thread that says something like "SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST A NEW THREAD, AND DO SO IN THE RIGHT SECTION PLEASE".

So....search. Common problem, easy fix.

SEARCH.

And you are quick to give the usual response of anyone new to a group of people with something in common, yet doesn't have the knowledge those people share:

A very unoriginal and failed attempt at a humorous response in which you attack the informer to feel more substantial within the group and for which you are standing up for those around you who are also new, instead of taking the very simple and easy to follow advice given to you.

If you know the search button exists, and due to the simple existence of your response at all, I would assume you have the mental capicity to actually USE the button. But instead you take the easy way out, post the oh so common "I also have the same problem" response in hopes that since you aren't the originator of the useless thread, you don't take any heat for not using the provided search ability. But you are no different, you were just too lazy.

Thankyou

-oh so GREAT MASTER adamlee05, the bearer of wisdom and enlightenment

Type in "pillar" and SELECT 2nd gen TL to narrow the search
