When the yellow engine light comes on, during regular driving, what does that mean? Am i starting to have engine problems? Is my tranny failing? Please help i am very new to this. P.S: Up to what millage do the stealerships help you replace your tranny? I am at 40k right now.

 

i think it was extented to 7 years 100k, and if you are talking about the check engine light u should just go to autozone and let them diagnose it for u for free. ps i was at the Nalley Acura today and there was 4 TL's in there replacing there trannys but hope yours is something minor because the check engine light comes on if you dont turn the gas cap until it clicks 3 times thats what it says on he cap so check that too

 

Thank you very much for all of your information. But now that you mention the gas cap, i did relace it with a chrome one from redline motorsports not too long ago. But in the few times i have gotton gas i did turn the gas cap until i here some click, maybe not 3 but yeah some. If it is the gas cap, and i hope it is, how do i reset that check engine light?

 

The check engine light could be for anything. What year is your car? If it's not 4 years old or more, then you still have warranty coverage (lasts 'til 50k miles). Take it into the dealership.

 

I have a TL-P 2003. I thought the warrantee was for only 36K miles.

 

if its the gas cap it will go off by itself after re-tighten so check that and did u went to autozone to check what the code is?

 

I will try to go to autozone today and try to find out what that code is. And yes i did try the gas cap, but still that stupid light is on.

 

No, for Acura, it's 4yr/50K for standard warranty.

 

I had my CEL light on for 3 weeks and my mechanic told me a code for O2 sensor was diagnosed. I changed both my sensors and no CEL light for the past 2 weeks.
