Check Engine Reset....
Check Engine Reset....
I had some idle problems 2 days ago with my 2001 TL. It was rev'n from 1000 to 2000 continuously. I took it up on the highway and drove it around a lot, I havent driven it in days.........and the problem fixed itself.
As soon as the problem fixed itself, my check engine light came on.....i got a code 505, idle air control, and I have an appt. friday w/ Acura, but does anyone know how to reset the light so it won't come on anymore....my logic: if the light is turned off and I still have a problem, it will come back on, if it doesnt come back on by friday, I dont have to waste my day sitting in the waiting lounge @ the dealership.

aite cool, thanks. I've also heard different things about the IAC....Acura is saying once it is gone, there is nothing to fix it, it needs to be replaced, someone at autozone is saying I cannot order the part through them, but most likely, I can just retune the part somehow, and another friend who owns a TL and works at another autozone said, he had the problem and just cleaned out his IAC and fixed it, there was a carbon build up or something.
Is acura tryin to screw me so i spend close to $300 in repairs, or does autozone employees just have no clue?

The only thing you can re-tune is your idle screw which if your idle is bouncing then IACV is sticking/binding and adjusting your idle will not help that nor will it turn your engine light off...
Acura is not trying to screw you. They are going to fix your car.
