Cheap Front Motor Mounts
I have noticed a front motor mount on Amazon and eBay for about $68. The manufacturer is DEA Products part number is A4519. It does not look to be TL specific, as it fits multiple Acura and Honda Vehicles. Seller and Manufacturer claims they are compatible. It does look familiar to the TL's front motor mount. I know it is better to go OEM , I am just curious to see if anyone has tried these one out before.

I was in your same boat, I just went and got an OEM one. I always say, you get what you paid for. I got them on ebay from a dealer out in AZ. Good prices and fast delivery.

If you are not planning on poly filling them then stick with OEM 100% or you will not be happy. acuraautomtiveparts.org is a great site for true OEM parts. For poly filled mounts get the Anchor mounts from Rock Auto, b ut don't fill the rear as the vibrations are insane.

I decided to try the Aftermarkets after purchasing some so called new OEM mounts on eBay. Guy stated they where new but on inspection and lack of Acura receipt I decided to send them back. So I'll give them a shot considering I purchase OEM in the past and they only lasted 11K miles.. I ended up paying $65 for both. If they don't work out well oh well. I took some picture of the OEM(LEFT) next to the aftermarkets(RIGHT) if anyone is interested in comparing.

Why does the first pic the one on the right look taller??
#7
his old mount was broken? fluid leak causes low height? guessing
seems like ~making it to OE spec~ lets them call it OE
are the vac boosters there?

iv noticed that DEA front mounts tend to be on the tall side, at least that was the case with mine and a few others iv came across. they compress after install. also Anchor rear mounts tend to be a little short and cause minor vibrations, again is the case for me and a few others iv seen. They dont suck, but OEM mounts are better. I dont plan on getting aftermarket mounts or poly filling them, since Ingalls stiffy ETD has taken care of most of the movement in the mounts, almost none to be precise. The ETD on the stiff setting has pretty much has satisfied me holding the engine in place and almost eliminates motor mount moment.

I've wondered how those have worked out for anybody who installed one. Any downside to it, extra vibration noticed maybe? How much did it cost?

I attempted installing the mounts this weekend. I failed
. I was able to get the old mounts out after having to run to the parts store for U joints. Once out the height difference created a problem as I had the car on Rhino Ramps and my jack stops at 14". So I could not jack the car any higher to put the new mounts in. I decide to put the old mount back in and tackle this another day. The bolts on the bracket on the engine block was a pain to take off. I'll repost after install.

quick question, what will happen if I don't replace the failed motor mounts? My tl has 140K, never had motor mounts replaced, and I noticed that front, rear and side have all gone bad.
Rear mount lacks oil all the way down to the drive shaft; side mount rubber cracked; and front mount oil has all gone.
Thanks

When changing the front or rear mount you have to take the bracket off. Then take the mount off, while motor is jacked. Then place the new mount in, put the bracket on top of it, put the four bolts that connect the mount to the subframe in loosely then put the bracket bolts in 100% then tighten the mount bolts to subframe 100%, then put the top mount stud nut on and tighten it. Also when doing the rear mount make sure to loosen the tranny mounts to avoid tearing the bushings. Use blocks of wood to jack up the motor higher if need be.

This may be a supid question ...but..should the front mount be replace with an identical looking OEM mount? I replaced mine with one purchased thru a dealer and although it didn't look identical...it fit and worked.
