CEL - p0740 - Minor Problem

Supposedly from the search I've done this is a MAJOR problem. I am however, getting very minor symptoms related to this issue. Which is really odd. Most of the people who had this trouble code show up had to replace there tranny. It really doesn't feel that drastic.

The only problems I notice are random sudden jolts when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. This rarely happens though.

The other problem is my reverse is harder to shift into. It will crank into reverse but not all the time. This problem is also fairly random. However there is quite a delayed reaction to get into reverse. I'd say about 2 seconds.

Well if anyone can let me know if there's a fix to this TCC Circuit Malfunction other than replacing the Transmission please let me know. From what I see I need to replace the TCC Solenoid.

Oh forgot to mention, I have 167,000 miles on this car. So I'm not in my warranty. Anyways, the car is a 99 Acura 3.2TL so they don't have a transmission recall on this certain vehicle.

the recall was simply for a oil jet. ALL 99-02 and some 03s had a warranty extension to cover the defect.
Unfortunately i cant give you much help or hope. Most with issues like that end up getting the trans replaced. I dont have the manual here to see if there is actually something that can be replaced externally or if the damage has already happened and is whats causing the trouble code.

New Update as well,

I'm taking the transmission in first thing tomorrow morning at 8AM but I just realized that whenever I drive the engine really hard it won't shift until it's in redline for a good 3-5 seconds. But if I drive really smoothly it will shift just fine.

This only applies to 1st to 2nd gear shifts.
