Buy a 02-03 or a aftermarket HU. Those are your best and only real options.

if you've got an ipod you could do what i did and interface it with the oem head unit.

it was cheaper and more feasible for me to do it that way instead of buying a new HU.

Are these CDs that you burned? My '02 would play purchased CDs fine, but would skip on copies of the same CDs that I made for the car. The solution was to burn the CDs at a lower speed.

So the 02 03 Tl/CL deck you guys saying that will playing burnt CDs fine ?. Is there some tricks like i read somewhere in here that some particular type of cds and brands could work with our oem decks. And how low speed do we need to burn it ?

There are unit to unit differences between the head units. Some will play burned CDs and others will not.

What works for one unit, such as a particular burning strategy or a particular brand of CD-R, will not work for another player. So it's totally hit or miss.

The 6-disc changers used in the 2002-2003 TL play burned CDs without a problem. So you can install one of those or buy an aftermarket head unit.

I installed a 2002-2003 HU in my 1999 TL an it plays burned CDs without a problem.

Another option, as mentioned by Stimpy, is to just install an MP3 or iPod player adapter. I plugged a Blitzsafe MP3 adapter into the back of my HU and now I use my iPod nearly all of the time. I hardly ever use my CD player for music.
