CD Changer: Jammed CDs / Not working
Hi,
I had problems with the in-dash CD changer on my 2002 TL-S since I bought it a couple of months ago. The changer was jamming CDs while loading/ejecting, reporting no CD when CD was actually there, giving ERR-01 code or something like this, and generally refusing to work.
It was kind of fixed, cleaned, etc., and worked OK for some time, though you could feel that it is very fragile, especially when loading/ejecting CDs (which I did not so often, actually, quite rarely). I was told by the mechanic that CD changers in TLs are not very reliable.
And now it collapsed again - while ejecting the disk. The disk did not go out, but it's spot is already reported as empty. No one other disk is able to play. I guess the jammed disk is somewhere in a limbo inside the mechanism.
I got fed up with that and I don't wont to pay every other month for fixing that damned device.
I'm wondering if there are any afrtermarket/OEM/major brand CD changers to fit into the slot in the dash? If there are any, where to get them? How expensive are they? Generally, what to do?
Thanks in advance.

just get an alpine hu or something similar, you will fit all 6 cd's on one disc and then some, and have a better quality then that pos in there now. starts at about $150, and it is endless at that point, i have the alpine 9855, which is much overkill for a factory replacement. but, something similar will do.
