Car surging after warm start

I'm almost stumped in what the issue is with my TL. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

After a warm start and driving the car, the car will surge. The surging is basically when i part throttle from a stop light, the car will fall flat on its face as if its about to cut off and then all of a sudden it will start accelerating. It will do this for several seconds but if i stab the gas pedal it will jerk really hard and take off. I have noticed during the surging it will would hold the shifts longer than usual and almost bang into 2 second gear or even sometimes even third gear. I did get a couple of codes P0131 and P0132 for the o2 sensor but i cleared those codes and they have not returned. After driving the car for a few minutes, it returns to normal and only does it occasionally when driving it. The same issue will repeat itself when i park the car and run errands and come back out and drive it. I have replaced 4 of the coil packs with brand new coils from Acura so possibly the coil packs could be failing? The car has new plugs, the EGR was recently cleaned out as well as the passage for the EGR in the head and intake manifold. The car has 285k miles on it if it matters.

The next step might be to clean or replace the IACV valve and clean the throttle body, lube the TB plate hinges and clean and lube TB springs. Might be that simple the only cost will be a can of throttle body cleaner.

So, assuming that the car was showing the same symptoms before replacing the plugs and coils....check the coolant level, clean the TB intake and IAC valve as previously advised. How bad was the EGR when ya cleaned the system ? The '99 EGR set-up is a common issue and must be thoroughly gone over.

Maybe there's a vac leak. Try running some fuel system cleaner in a tank of super premium. Could be the shitty ethanol gas. Check all the electrical connections and grounds. Clear the CEL and see if any new codes come up.

The plugs and coils were changed approximately a year ago. The symptoms just recently popped up. The EGR was clogged but was cleaned out as it seems to get clogged every 60-70k miles. I have now gone through a couple of tanks of gas from different gas stations and still same issue. I have run a fuel injector cleaner but it made no difference. I might just end up replacing the iac and EGR valve.

Maybe a leaky fuel injector. Could possibly be a restriction in the fuel delivery.
Make sure that ya check the electrical connections and the main ground wire from the battery to the tranny case.

Make sure to check the main ground for the ECU on the thermostat housing for corrosion or if its loose and other grounds as suggested.
Vacuum leaks is another one to look for.

I'm chasing something similar. In addition to the suggestions above, you might check the motor mounts. If the engine rotates during acceleration, the computer can think the wheels are spinning and shut off the fuel to the engine.

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

The car has new motor mounts installed a few months ago. The car mysteriously stopped doing the issue but I did notice the ground from the battery cable to alternator had the isulation gone on most of it leaving the ground exposed to corrosion. I will replace that soon and clean the IAC and TB.
