Not sure what the hell is going on with my TL, I've been taking care of it more than ever and it seems to be acting more than ever, today while driving the car started shaking and started smoking under the hood, doesn't smell like oil (not due for a change nor is it leaking), does not smell like anti-freeze, not sure what it is, letting it cool down now......I know its a very broad question but any suggestions? Thanks!

I kind of figured that, but not sure where the smoke is coming from just noticed it coming from under the hood, I opened it and I can say it was coming from the left side behind the engine and the smell was not familiar, wish I could give more info, will go to my mechanic today. Thanks.

electrical? hydraulic fluid leak?
--maybe rear motor mount broken and leaked on exhaust?
front and rear mounts are trick fluid filled and rubber thing- plus some years are vacuum boosted to get stiffer on throttle
if that breaks and leaks the engine may shudder or run funny and lose power
