Car humming
Car humming
I have a 2000TL with 105KM. I'm not exactly sure on how to describe this, but about few weeks back my whole car started making this weird humming sound. It feels like the car has this huge weight on it. I guess a better explanation would be if you are driving a manual car and you did not shift to the next gear after reaching a certain speed. This whole issue started when a friend of mine bored the car for a week and started to use a low grade gas. After doing some research on this site, I seafoamed the car but the issue is still happening
. Any ideas has to why?????

try this test
at light throttle cruising in D5 at 25 and 35 mph, stand on the gas and stay there.
It should downshift into 2nd and launch forward without hesitation
If it lags catching into gear- revs up and doesnt engage gear right away- thats a trans problem in the making- weak clutches- thats are usual failure point

Sorry that was a mistake. Actually it was one of the back bearings (not rotors). When I we took it apart the grease inside was so viscous that they could barely turn. I decided to replace both bearings and the breaks since I was already working on it.
