Car doesn't crank

There seems to be trend recently with cars being unable to start.

My car won't crank. When I try cranking it my electornics start flickering rapidly. Any idea what the culprit is?

Check your battery or battery cables.

2000 TL- I had a starting problem for months-seemed like it was not getting fuel sometimes. Started getting worse so finally took it to dealer. They replaced the engine computer and fuel pressure regulator. Over $1000. Had a 20% discount card so $833.

yours sounds like a battery issue.

Wow. Could've got a PCM/ECU off eBay for like a hundred bucks. Swap the immobilizer chip from your original ECU and you're on your way!

Can you jump start it? If yes, then you have a bad battery.

I can get it to start, it jsut takes a couple tries and its really hesistant to start, and i notice the gauges flickering which made me think it was an electrical problem. a couple times my nav has reset. It only happens in the morning, or at the end of the day after its been sitting.

i'm going to go get my battery tested in a little bit. hopefully thats the problem.

Seems like most of the time that solves funky electrical--good battery strength!

now that its in- go get the system fully tested for free at parts store
Make sure the alt wasnt hurt when battery quit
