a/c stops blowing

so a nice electrical gremlin showed its head today.
i was pulling up at a friends house, and right when i came to a stop, the ac stopped blowing. when it turned off, the recirc light turned off as well. so i turned it off and then hit the auto button and nothing.
so we wait for a little bit and i gave a friend a manual tranny lesson. afterwards, i get in my car and everything is fine. this happened around 430pm
fast forward to 7pm, and on my way home from the store, while doing about 40, the blower stops again. so i turn it off, then hit auto and all is well.

what the hell is going on..kinda smells slightly sweet from the vents..electrical? i planned to take my car to the coast this weekend and now im having second thoughts.

what could it be, and how much lol. i would most likely have the dealer do this since im not electrically inclined

and yes i searched and nothing lol

thanks

Bryan

^ Check that first. It's under/behind the glove box, IIRC

Yeah this happened to my car a few months ago. Didn't know what the problem was, it ended up costing me 250 to fix this problem. I could have sworn that there was a very informative thread on here, including pictures..

check this out.
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-problems-fixes-117/heater-c-failure-2001-3-2tl-581025/

when it happened to my car, the mechanic said that 2 cables had been burnt/melted. they just reconnected and "tada" instant cold air...

I believe the cables are located underneath the glovebox.

good luck!!!

so, since it was 105 today, i decided just to take it in

i told the adviosr what was going on, and he said it sounds like the harness (150) and/or the transistor?? he described it as a mother board. he said that that was 4something

so they took the car in, gave me a loaner, and i waited for the call

he called me saying it was both .. when i was at the lot, i told him that i hoped that it was the harness because tomorrow, me and the gf are going out of town to celebrate our anniversary. so before i left, he said that they would help me out on the price. so when called me saying it was both, he said that the tech did some kind of overlap work, and they ended up charging me 260 for everything.

so now everything works, and the ac even blows cooler than before, and i almost recharged my ac like a week ago lol

thanks for the help/advice

Bryan
