2001 Acura TL...

I had the stock radio in, and one day the sound just stopped. Radio works fine and lights up, and when i have it on as loud as you can you can faintly, i mean faintly, hear something coming from the rear of the car, but only if you listen reealllyy carefully

Put an aftermarket radio in and had no sound issues, worked fine

Took out aftermarket radio and put back in stock radio. Found my code and it worked fine but same issue no sound...

So if I buy another Acura radio will it work or is it my amplifer that needs replacing? Not really wanting another aftermarket radio..

the BOSE system has an amplifier for each speaker
Not sure if one failure would knock the rest out
may be wired in series like old christmas lights?

post again in the Audio section,,this is more engine-driveablity problems
you need the right specialty

 

if you buy a used acura radio be certain it has the codes with it
and the original VIN it went in
