brakes

hi i have a 01 TL and i realized when i brake around freeway speeds my steering wheel tends to vibrate (shaking left and right a little bit). I had it checked about a month ago and they said my rotors and pads were okay. any ideas?

Your brakes are warped and need to be replaced.

warped, get aftermarket rotors and pads, the oem are trash. i have EBC dimpled and slotted w/redstuff pads and love them. others recommend, many different aftermarket brakes, they are all better than stock.

Sounds like brakes, I just replaced stocks with drilled and slotted and ceramic both front and back, I was experienceing the same vibration and pulsations in my steering wheel while braking and this fixed all of that but I am still breakin them in, working on it tomorrow, I can't wait to drive!!!!

I put Brembo Blank Rotors on mine a couple months ago. All is good! Nice and smooth. I also replaced the front brake lines. They are suppose to have a tendency to expand and contract in hot weather and cause pulsating. A world of difference now with the new rotors, pads, and lines.

question on this, could it be glazing? my 99 sometimes gets the shimmy, but a couple of stops from, er, high speed down to about 50 seem to get rid of it for several months...
