"Brake Light" In Dash-What Does It Mean?

I have a brake light button that has turned on in my dash next to the check engine light etc. Does anyone know what it means? I have checked all my lights and they seem to all be working fine. Thankss

check your brake fluid, and make sure that u didnt accidental hit the e brake (aka hand brake but we have it to the left of the brake pedal) and engage it.

I had that on my wifes 02 TL and it was a tail light bulb.. Have someone stand behind the car while you depress the brake pedal and see what bulb is not lighting

If it were brake fluid the "Brake" would illuminate
It it was a bulb, "Brake Light" would illuminate.

It is easy to replace. Check the manual.

There are two lights

"BRAKE"
"BRAKE LIGHTS"

If its the one with lights, a bulb is burned out. If its "BRAKE" its either your parking brake or you car thinks you are low on fluid. This might be due to a leak or more commonly the sensor goes.

even the center/3rd brake light bulbs must be working or the system detects an imbalance and alerts you..

have someone step on the brake and look at your brake lights... commonly one of the center mounted brake bulbs (the one in the rear windshield) is out

Could be the float in the brake fluid reservoir. Mine seems to stick when it gets pretty cold out. Take of the cap and slide it around to loosen it up to see if that helps. I've also heard the filter in the bottom of the reservoir may need to be replaced.

we dont have any sensor that tells us that our brake pads are low. they probably replaces pads and resurfaced the rotors and topped up the fluid.

when your pads get low, you lose more fluid in the reservoir bc it fills the lines and calipers bc the pads are low.
