Brake lamp light on

1999 Acura 3.2 TL. The brake lamp light comes on/stays on and the right turn signal freezes when the brake pedal is pressed. The brake lamps are working.

Corroded or missing ground wire in one of the rear light assemblies? (just a guess...)

Have you put in any LEDs?

Yeah, check the rear bulb connections and sockets. May be a good time to install some new bulbs and apply some dielectric grease. Also make sure that the 3rd high mount lamp bulbs are all working.

In the Helm's service manual for my CL there's a long section showing where and how to diagnose brake light problems. Get your hands on one for the 99 TL and follow it?

I replaced the bulbs but did not use dielectric grease. I'll try that. A guy i work with suggested the sensor behind the brake pedal, what are your thoughts?

Doesn't sound like a problem with the brake pedal switch....

Only the right turn signal freezes? Can you describe problem better?

Brake lamp dash light on.....

Does the RHS turn signal work normally when activated......"without pressing the brake pedal" ????

My guess is that the problem may be a wiring issue or bad socket for that affected side. Maybe a bad ground. Check that side for power. Double check the socket and spray electrical cleaner in it. Maybe poor contact ?

The right signal flashes until i press the brake pedal and begins to flash again when you lift off the peda. The brake lamp light comes onthe first time you press the pedal and remains on until you turn off the ignition. I replaced the bulbs when the lamp light first came on even though brake lights were working. This didn't fix the problem. I don't know if the two issues started at the same time.

Also, the car had just been in the shop to have the alternator replaced. These issues started right after I got it back.

More than likely a wiring or socket issue with something shorting out on that side.
