Bose CD Changer Doesn't Work

Bose CD Changer Doesn't Work
Did the requisite search and it appears that I'm SOL unless someone can chime in with something new. Getting the error 1 code - won't play, eject, or even open the little window so I can try to dislodge a potentially stuck disc (what else would it be?). I'll call Bose on Monday, but it looks like a place in Florida will repair at about $345 plus shipping (and I have to remove and install!). Costs $886 to replace according to Acura eStore. Been absolutely trouble free to this point. Any ideas at all?..............................Thanks, Doug
PS 03 TL-S and I'm out of warranty.

Unit is actually manufactured by Pioneer, possibly with Bose sound processing. I doubt if the speakers are even Bose (probably just the sub is).
ERR1 or ERR2 os so common on this HU, I had mine replaced twice. Just look for a good aftermarket unit with a custom mounting plate. You'd even get better speaker options than stock.

Thanks Vicman17. The weirdest thing is the next day I went out to the car and it immediately ejected a disc. Apparently it had "remembered" that command from the day before. Now everything seems to be working fine... I suspect, however, this isn't the last time this kind of thing will happen and I will take your advice and start looking at aftermarket units............... Doug

Sometimes once the unit senses some form of reset, it MAY spit the stuck CD back out. But don't count on it. I lost 2 good CDs this way, the dealer sent it out (That's how I found out it was a Pioneer) and when they got my CDs back it was all scratched up.
Once you listen to a good aftermarket unit with decent speakers then you'll find that your stock HU (and speakers) are really not that good. Not very good range and muddled clarity. And with the advent of MP3, you're better off looking for a unit with at least an AUX input so you can play your whole CD collection (ripped of course).

well mines kept making a clicking noise so i took it out and ordered a eclipse avn6610, the other night i put it back in so i atleast had the radio, funny thing is while it was out and in my room on the floor id kick it every time i walk by it. Now it works fine :S, shake it around it might move the stuck disc. Its worth a shot i guess.

If you didn't already buy a CL radio, I would just wait to find a TL radio.

Good luck finding a TL radio. I bought an 02-03 changer through the Black market forum and that worked out great. Also try eBay and Car-Part.com: http://car-part.com/

the best thing for you would be to get the radio reserviced instead looking for used or new. I did mine for $350, with a one year warranty, and it was actually done by pioneer company, and they said it's with alot of TL stereo's since it has a cd changer. Good luck
