Battery Swap making MIL light go on?
Battery Swap making MIL light go on?
Hello all, so I just swapped in a new battery on my 99 TL, 167k miles. During a long drive the next day, the MIL light came on about halfway through the journey. When I swapped the battery out, I didn't use a booster or anything to keep power up in the car, so I had to put in the radio code, etc. Could the swap have messed with the ECU or something? Or will the MIL have come on independently of any battery issues?
battery swap does reset the ecu -thats no big deal- driving makes it relearn
the mait req light is the oil change reminder
its based on miles since last reset--blinks at engine start around 6000-6500
gets more insistant blinking as it nears 7000 and goes on and stays on ~7500 miles
to reset- put key in ignition
left hand reach thru top part of steering wheel
push and hold in BOTH trip buttons
turn key to ON but not to start
mait light flashes 10 times and goes off
key off- remove hands- done
oh- change the oil if appropriate
