Battery died

So yesterday I parked the TL at a shopping center and shut the engine and left the key's in "On". My wife and kids stayed in the car of course. It was about 10 minutes and I came back and started the car. It wouldn't start. All I got was a slight attempt to start and clicking noises after words. At first I though it was the starter but I denied that because I've had starters go out before and when they go out there is no sound when trying to start. Anyways, long story short the battery was drained after leaving the key's in the "On" position for ten minutes with no music on or anything. Does this constitute a mandatory battery change? It starts up fine after a quick jump start and seems to hold it's own without the jump start afterwards. I'm guessing that it would be wise to change the battery considering that I bought the car with 109k miles and don't know if the previous owner has ever changed the battery which I highly doubt that they did.

yep time for a battery!!
costco sells know good batteries and Optima battery if the wife and kids sit and listen to tunes and watch dvd---worth the extra dollars now to never have a problem again

Thanks, I bought a new battery from wallyword(wal-mart) which held up fine in my previous cars but I think it's time to try something different. I'll check out Costco today and probably will just end up returning the battery I bought from wallyworld.

anything over 4 years for an OE battery or 3 years for an aftermarket and you can
figure its replacement time'
Add the load of AC in the summer or headlights in the winter and say goodbye to what was left inside~

A little off topic, can a battery be dead while there is still the "green eye" showing in the indicator window? Just found out my gf's TL wouldn't start and it's been having trouble starting since a few weeks ago. But I've monitored the indicator window and still had the green eye.
